Summer finally returned and provided glorious (if not too warm) conditions for the Fete. 63 runners set off, after a miscount; Stephen Hall leading from the go to finish in 37:33. Charlotte Jackson came in first woman in 8th place overall.
The race raised nearly £400 pounds. With the cash I found litter picking the fete field on Sunday, we will be able to give 'Cancer Research UK' and CROWS £200 pounds each. Many thanks to one and all. Halifax Harriers’ Hazel Berrett was set to enjoy Blackshaw Head without the pressure of manning the Calderdale Way Relay changeover. Unfortunately, she tweaked her ‘good’ knee on the descent to Colden, and took a lift back to the fete field.
Many thanks to the race marshals without which the race would not happen, and to the relevant landowners for making organisation much easier. See you next year.
